How do I find my training requirements?

Step 1. Go to the Find My Training tab

Step 2. Click on your business unit and select your role from the drop down

Step 3. The list of training requirements will automatically update as you make role selections

Step 4. (optional) Download a PDF of your training requirements and print for future reference if you would like. 

Can I retake completed training? How do I find it so I can review it again?

Elearning

Yes, you can access a completed elearning course by following the steps below.

Step1. Go to training.umn.edu

Step 2. Click the My Training button

Step 3. Click the Past Training tab

Step 4. Find the course you would like to review and click View Details

Step 5. Click the Launch Canvas Course button

Live (zoom) training

If live training sessions are still available, you can take the course again if you would like a refresh of the material, or would like additional practice. You can register for live training sessions from the training hub at training.umn.edu.

If no more sessions are available, check out the related reference guides. These can be found under the Reference Guides tab on this website and selecting the relevant business unit from the drop down menu. 

How do I register for training?

Step 1. Find your training requirements using the steps provided in the FAQs above or on the Find My Training page. 

Step 2. Click on any required training course title to go to that course in the training hub.

Step 3. Select the time and date that works for you and click the +Enroll in Course button for that section.

Note 1: If it is an elearning course, there will only be one section with no date or time. 

Note 2: Reasons you may see enrollment unavailable:

  • You have not completed all prerequisites 
  • If it is an elearning course, it may not yet be published
  • If it is a live course, enrollment closes 48 hours before the start time of the section. 

I don't have a computer, how can I attend virtual, live training?

If you do not have access to a computer please speak to your manager to work out a plan to attend training.

Can I attend live training from a laptop?

The training will have you open zoom and multiple tabs and windows in an internet browser. It is strongly recommended that you have at least two screens when completing the training. However, if you only have a laptop, we recommend closing all applications, windows, and tabs that are not related to training as this will help minimize distractions. 

What equipment do I need for training?

Recommended equipment

  • Computer (training on mobile is not recommended)
  • Two monitors
  • A headset (headphones) with a microphone
  • A webcam (not utilized for elearning courses, optional but recommended for live sessions)
  • Make sure your computer is plugged into a power source.
  • If possible, connect to a hard-wired internet. 

I've completed my training but would like to practice in the training environment, how do I do that?

Great! You can access the training environment by going to z.umn.edu/traintririga.

Check out our reference guides for step by step instructions if you'd like some extra guidance while you practice. 

NOTE: Some updates have been made to the live TRIRIGA environment that are not yet available in the training environment. Some features may not function properly. 

Why was I added to a wait list when I tried to register for training?

To ensure that training is interactive and effective, we have limited the number of people that can register for each section. Once the allotted number of people have registered, a waitlist becomes available. If this is the case you will see a button that says Add to Waitlist where the +Enroll in Course button would typically be. You can choose to join a waitlist, or enroll in another available section. If you choose to add yourself to a waitlist, you will be automatically enrolled if a slot becomes available.

 

How do I access my training?

Live (zoom) Training

You will receive an email with a zoom link the day before your training session. When it is time for training, find that email and open the link to join the zoom meeting. Read and save any emails from [email protected]

Elearning (Canvas) Training

After enrolling in an elearning course, you will be taken to the training hub page for that course. From there, click Launch Canvas Course.

If you are trying to access the elearning course at a later time you can access elearning courses one of two ways. 

From Training Hub

Step1. Go to training.umn.edu

Step 2. Click the My Training button

Step 3. Find the course you would like to review and click View Details

Step 4. Click the Launch Canvas Course button

From Canvas

Step 1. Go to canvas.umn.edu.

Step 2. From your dashboard, find the course you would like to complete and click on the course tile to begin.
