This guide is to be used to assist in the adjusting and voiding of payment schedules on leases.  
There are two primary scenarios where you will be updating or voiding payment schedules:

1. A lease you have submitted for accounting review has been returned to you for corrections. 
2. You are amending a lease. 

There are cases where payment line items generated for a payment schedule may become ‘orphaned’ from the parent payment schedule record.  This is known to occur when voiding a schedule that has past-dated payment line items (from today’s date).  For example, if you void a payment schedule that was created to run from 7/1/2020 to 6/30/2021 on 9/14/2020, the rent payments due in July, August, and September will not be voided and will still be able to be picked up on the Process Payments batch.  This guide on Voiding Orphaned Payment Line Items will walk you through the process. 

This guide will show you how to exercise a renewal option on a lease.

• This guide assumes you are starting with an active lease that has renewal options set up.  
• The decision to renew the lease is done outside of the system via communication with the tenant/landlord and/or the sponsoring department/occupying department.
